On Saturday 15th June 2013 we headed out to Kajiado county. The trip started at exactly 7:00 AM and most of the land buyers in this county had come all ready to see the parcels they had bought.
There were 3 buses ready to ferry people to the trip. It was a cold chilly morning but this did not deter the investors who were keen to see the land they had invested in.
The journey was exciting and adventurous for the team that went. We stuck in sand at some point but still had the determination to see the parcels.
After the trip, we were all treated to some mbuzi and Ugali for lunch by the locals there, and at the end of the day, it was a good day.
Safaricom Investment Co-operative has bought several blocks of parcels in Elangata. The parcels have been sold in blocks of 5 acres each, and the prices have been affordable to many, with the latest block going at Kshs. 555,000 per 5 acre block.
But as the price would indicate, this is a remote area, and is about 52 Kms from Namanga road. This is a land that is perfect for speculation, but livestock can be done immediately on the parcel.
Almost all the meat supplied in Nairobi comes from Kajiado county, and we would encourage our buyers to consider this option, and keep a few to sell in the peak seasons especially during the holiday seasons.

Seasonal river that has brought with it sand.
This sand is said to be the best for construction. |
|
And we stopped to see the beauty in nature.... |
|
If I can just get this sand to Nairobi... |
|
Beauty untold, this would be a perfect place for a resort.... |

Keen investors would see a lot of potential in this... |

It would be advisable that you take this trip in a 4 wheel drive vehicle... |
|
Unless you are ready for some exercise in pushing... |
|
And more pushing... |
|
But it was fun and adventurous... A lot of team work here... |
|
The roads, for the most part are accessible but not direct to the parcels. |

After the trip... |

Virgin land not yet tilled, only grazed on... |

The terrain... |

Black cotton soil... |

With green vegetation very good for grazing |

The parcels, untold beauty...

Some of the buyers who may have wanted land for immediate development, realized that this was just not the parcel for that. But S.I.C still has parcels that will suit their needs...
Watch this space...
